In 1988 Achille Castiglioni, perhaps the most famed Italian designer of all time, released an updated edition of his original Taraxacum Lamp giving it the added 88 name for the year in which he designed it. Achille Castiglioni named this brilliant pendant light fixture the Taraxacum which is the Latin name for the Dandelion flower. When the ethereal Taraxacum flower matures into a globe of fine filaments it closely resembles this awe-inspring lamp. The intriguing Taraxacum 88 is perhaps the most significant lamp in Achille Castiglioni's design oeuvre. From the moment it was released, Taraxacum 88 was destined to become a design classic.
