Piero Lissoni Biography:

Piero Lissoni (born 1956) is one of Italy's leading Italian architects and designer, known for his contemporary furniture design. Lissoni's influences include Italian masters Zanuso, Sottsass, Castiglioni, and Magistretti, but also Danish designers such as Arne Jacobsen and Poul Kjaerholm. His clients are many of the most world-renowned design companies: Alessi, Boffi, Cappellini, Cassina, Flos, Fritz Hansen, Kartell, Living Divani, Matteograssi, Poltrona Frau, Porro, and Tecno. Piero Lissoni was born in 1956 and graduated from the Milan Polytechnic with a degree in architecture in 1978. In 1984, he began working as an Art Director and Designer at Boffi, an Italian architecture firm which specializes in designing kitchens and bathrooms. A few years later, he founded the architectural firm Lissoni Associates with Nicoletta Canesi. He continues to design today, and one of his pieces, Sol Light, a 3-dimensional geometric grid of cubes, was recently auctioned off to raise money for cancer research. Lissoni is a very minimalistic designer and has worked with many of the world's most notable design companies, including furniture maker Kartell and others.

Piero Lissoni Design:

Architect and designer Piero Lissoni approaches his work with a mastery of proportion and an acute sensitivity for the subtlety that distinguishes the common from the insightful, never designing for a specific function or purpose, but designing for human beings. The Piero Lissoni studio embraces architecture, graphics and industrial design, with projects ranging from furniture, accessories, kitchens, bathroom and lighting fixtures to corporate identity, advertising, catalogues and packaging. Interior design projects include hotels, showrooms, trade stands, private houses, shops and yachts. The Piero Lissoni furniture collection from Glas Italia is available exclusively from Stardust. The Flos Mini Button is another classic Piero Lissoni design from Stardust.
