Shelter is a simple, characterful lamp that emits a cozy light onto its surroundings. The conical shape of its base and the rounded shade provide a soft and friendly feel adding a delightful contrast to the clean and sharp lines of the lamp. Shelter was designed by the Danish design duo HolmbäckNordentoft and is available as both a table and floor lamp. Shelter is a play on both proportions and details. The white inner side of the shade provides a reflective effect while its wide, curved shape goes to direct the light making it pleasant and anti-dazzling.

Sebastian Holmback and Ulrik Nordentoft joined forces in late 2008, after having spent ten years as independent design professionals, to become HolmbäckNordentoft. They both educated from the Danish Design School in 1999/2000. “Our field of work span widely. From lighting, furniture and interiors to textiles and complex building components. For us, the primary focus when creating new products, is uniting all the complex aspects of product development, moving beyond the mere visual appearance of the final product. We represent a holistic approach where consideration for the environment, the consumer and economy matters equally.”
