Introducing the Riihitie Planter in Shape A by Artek – a timeless piece that seamlessly blends form and function. Crafted in ceramic, this plant pot showcases a distinctive curved and organic shape, deliberately avoiding sharp corners. Originally conceived by Aino Aalto for the terrace of her and Alvar's Helsinki home on Riihitie Road, this design has been reinterpreted in three sizes for indoor use.

The Aaltos' philosophy, that even the minutest details deserve attention, is embodied in this exquisite piece. Although initially presented at the Paris World Fair in 1937, it never entered serial production until now. Each pot is meticulously handmade from ceramic, a material integral to the Aaltos' architectural vocabulary.

Available in three finishes – white, blue, and light grey glaze – and two sizes, this planter has no draining hole, making it ideal for indoor use. The absence of a draining hole is a deliberate choice, ensuring a seamless and clean aesthetic. The color options are inspired by bespoke ceramic tiles created for various Aalto buildings, adding a touch of architectural history to your space.
