Luceplan Berenice Small Table Task Lamp by Alberto Meda and Paolo Rizzato. Berenice table lamp small by Luceplan. This functional table lamp is the small sister of the Classic Berenice table lamp. Its individual arms are only 12" long; compared to 17" with the Classic Berenice. This small functional table light is perfect for bedside reading or for a home office with a limited amount of desk space. Berenice was designed by Alberto Meda and Paolo Rizzatto for Luceplan in Italy. Luceplan's Berenice lamp received the highest Italian design award, the Compasso d'Oro in 1987 and become a veritable an icon of modern design. This little task light uses halogen lighting which is our preferred illumination for task- and reading.
Petite and precise, solid and stable. The fluidity of the arm joints and the 360° rotary movement of the head allow the light to be directed with minimum obstruction and maximum manageability. The reflector, made of pressed glass or aluminum, emits a concentrated beam of light that focuses attention. Berenice operates with a transformer that allows low tension current to reach the bulb through its rods without electric wiring. Its figure thus remains slim and elegant. With a special distancer housed in the lower part of the head, the light can be brought very close to whatever needs to be illuminated, while maintaining the right and safe distance from objects. By simply touching the head ring, which is well insulated and independent from the bulb housing, the light can also be moved in any direction.
