Philippe Starck created and named the Hudson Chair for Ian Schrager's Hudson Hotel in New York.
The Hudson chair is included in the design collection of the Museum of Modern Art, and was selected by the Chicago Athenaeum as one of the top 100 designs for 2000, winning the prestigious "Good Design Award".
The Hudson chair is handmade with 80% recycled aluminum and is designed
to last for 150 years! The Emeco navy chairs go through a detailed 77 step
manufacturing process. It takes 50 hands 4 hours just to make one of these fine chairs.
And this is what makes every chair unique, look underneath a few and you will notice
that some welds may be more buzzed than burred or the other way around.
This is not a mistake, it is part of the craft to make these fantastic chairs.
