The Aoy table lamp was designed by Achille Castiglioni for Flos in Italy.
This table lamp is a strikingly modern glass lamp.
To use up the light that ordinary floor lamps usually waste on their stem,
Achille Castiglioni designed a translucent support, a glass cylinder a foot wide with an opening at the bottom for a cat to curl up where it's warm, and to allow for easy cleaning of the floor beneath.
All parts are made of hand-blown glass and are made to match, without any metal connections.
