The Arco Lamp is a superbly executed work of art/lamp; it features our favorite material; Italian Carrara marble. Carrara is a town in the Italian Alps. The marble (Michelangelo's favorite) from this area has been used in Italy since Roman times.
Every time we see a Flos lamp in person, its quality and
design features leave us astounded - a big word, but the only right word -
to describe these lamps.
Most rooms have the electrical output for a ceiling lamp right in the middle of the ceiling, but most dining tables are not placed in the middle of a room. Castiglioni was unhappy because of the cable going from the output to the position where the pendant lamp is fixed to illuminate the table. For this reason he designed Arco in 1962.
